Veteran Nonprofit Leader Appointed as President

Steve VotawThe Board of Directors for the Furniture Bank of Central Ohio has selected veteran nonprofit leader Steve Votaw to lead the organization following a focused search.”Steve has committed his life and career to serving families in poverty,” said incoming Board Chair, Faith Williams.  “With his thirty plus years of experience, there’s no question he is the right leader to build upon the Furniture Bank’s success in serving Central Ohio families.”Votaw served as the Chief Executive Officer of Directions For Youth and Families for 17 years where he led the organization through a period of significant growth, and oversaw programs benefiting youth and their families receiving mental health, alcohol and drug abuse, and prevention services. Currently, Votaw serves as the Executive Director of Learn4Life Columbus, where he is responsible for developing and leading the cradle to career initiative for children and students in Columbus.”The selection committee recognized Steve’s considerable experience and success building relationships, growing organizations, working with multi-agency programs and developing funding sources, along with his personal commitment to families and his team. Those attributes make him a great fit,” said Brad Waite, FBCO’s Interim President.
