Pickup Options
Currently, to qualify for any donation pickup or disposal service, you must have at least one essential furniture item that meets our donation standards. Donations must be located in a garage or under a covered porch and limited to 10 items.
Effective January 2021, we offer disposal services for items that do not meet our donation standards for a nominal fee. A qualifying essential item must be included in the pick-up.
Effective May 11th, we also accept inside pickups for a $25 fee. Fees must be paid in advance and all other requirements must apply.
Effective May 4th, large pickups for more than 10 items will be available for pickup for a customized fee.
We also currently accept drop-off donations of both essential and non-essential furniture items Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8:30 am – 3:30 pm.
What Can You Donate?
If it’s in your home, chances are we can take it if it meets our donation standards. To qualify for a pickup, you must have one essential item– marked with an asterisk below. For a nominal fee, we can also dispose of damaged or old furniture items with the donation of one essential item. Items must be located in a garage or on a porch for a free pickup. Inside pickups are available for a $25 fee. Dropoffs are always welcomed at our warehouse in Franklinton on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm.

Donation Standards
We pride ourselves on giving quality furniture to those in need. At the time of a donation, we will inspect items to assure they meet our donation standards. That means:
- No rips, tears, stains, or tape patches in the fabric
- No pet hair or pet stains embedded in the fibers
- No bed bugs, fleas, cockroaches, or evidence of mice or other rodents or insects
- No recalled or damaged items
- Appliances must be working, with all parts, and must be clean
- No urine, blood or other health risks
If we are unable to accept your items for donation for any of these reasons, we offer disposal for a nominal fee.

- Cribs, car seats, high chairs or changing tables
- Waterbeds
- Platform beds

Yes, there are a few items that we will not accept. These items include the following:
- Waterbeds, platform beds, captain’s beds, trundle beds, adjustable beds, or hospital beds
- Glass top kitchen tables
- Large (greater than 4ft long) desks, metal desks, and metal filing cabinets or office cubicles
- Cribs, high chairs, car seats or changing tables
- Dishwashers or other built-in appliances
- Walkers or medical equipment
- Liquids
- Pianos and organs
- Firearms or firearm accessories
- Items with rips, tears, stains, excessive pet hair or evidence of bed bugs, fleas, cockroaches, mice or other rodents and insects
We reserve the right to refuse any item deemed unsuitable for our clients.

If you schedule a donation pick-up for at least one essential item that meets our donation standards, we can pick up and dispose of other furniture items at the same time. Disposal services are offered with a nominal fee based on item size. Call 614-545-3838 for more information.

Yes. The Furniture Bank is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We will provide a tax receipt at the time of pickup. Please consult with your tax professional for deduction details.

Pickups are scheduled by zip code and filled on a first come first serve basis.

A few days before your pickup date, you will be given a three-hour window for a pickup time prior to your scheduled pickup date.

Yes, we accept items that meet our donation standards for drop off at our Yale Avenue location during the following hours:
8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
Drop-offs are located in our back loading bay through the gate. We will remove items from your vehicle.
We do not accept items for drop off at our Furniture with a Heart Thrift Store on Morse Rd.
Furniture Donations and COVID-19
We are following all federal, state, and local requirements for safe business operations. As a nonprofit organization, we are an essential business and are slowly transitioning towards our previous service levels. The health, well-being and safety of our client families, donors, and staff is our top focus.
We are now scheduling donation pickups. Pickups must include an essential item.
Free pickups must have items in a garage or porch for a non-contact pickup. Inside pickups will resume on May 11th for a $25 advance paid fee and are limited to 10 items. Larger pickups of more than 10 items will be available for a customized fee through our Downsize with a Heart service.
We are also accepting drop-off donations on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm at our warehouse in Franklinton located at 118 S. Yale Avenue.
