We are excited to announce this March marks the Furniture Bank of Central Ohio’s 25th anniversary of restoring hope in our community! What started as a small group of people operating out of the basement of a church, has turned into so much more. We served 400 families in our first year of operation, and now serve over 3,300 families annually. We couldn’t have experienced this amazing growth without supporters like you!
This especially touched the life of one of our neighbors in need, Kevin and his son, who had recently escaped a domestic violence situation out of state and were classified as homeless. They stayed in a shelter for 4 months before finding their own place. Kevin explained, “My son is like, ‘Dad, I can’t wait to get a bed!’ … It means so much. I have a degenerative bone disease in my back and my neck but to finally lay down in a bed is going to feel so good. The past 5 months have been terrible but I can finally see some light, being regular, being normal. . . it gives me a third and fourth wind to keep going and to see how my story ends.” THANK YOU for making this possible for families like Kevin’s.
