GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
This position requires excellent customer service and is responsible for all aspects of delivering furniture including loading, unloading, and driving of 16? box trucks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must complete 90 days prior to advancement or have equivalent experience.
- Delivers furniture to Client’s homes, both inside and curbside as required within committed time frames, as well as bulk deliveries to other furniture banks and social service agencies as required.
- Lift, carry, and load furniture weighing up to 100 pounds, onto box trucks for transport to and from donor and client locations including up and down stairs.
- Drive company vehicles including up to 16-foot box trucks in a safe and courteous manner.
- Possess /Maintain a clean driving record.
- Re-stock, clean and organize the Client Warehouse, Showroom, as well as cross-docking of trucks and operation of replenishment runs.
- Answer questions for Clients, Case Managers, and partner agencies in a courteous and professional manner; helping them resolve issues when needed. Communicate with supervisors and Customer Service in difficult situations, when help is needed, and to provide status as requested.
- Complete daily paperwork including receipts, deliveries, and inventory transfers in a complete, legible, and timely manner.
- Work in a team environment towards common goals. Direct day laborers to complete assignments safely and efficiently, as needed.
- Assist clients with furniture selections and “walk-in” donations as directed.
- Operate material handling equipment, occasional forklift use.
- Transfer of items between locations
- Exposure to Driver II job duties in preparation for advancement.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

The Furniture Bank of Central Ohio is a nonprofit whose mission is to provide furniture to Central Ohio families and individuals struggling with poverty and other severe life challenges. Our team of staff and volunteers makes a difference every day to families by scheduling and picking up donations, making deliveries, building furniture, and raising important funds to support our mission. We invest in families and help them turn their empty houses into homes.
Position works in a business casual office environment from 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday. Ideal candidate would be able to work an occasional weekend and evening event, have Donor Database experience, be comfortable with social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter) Be organized and detail-oriented. Be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook, possess excellent writing skills. Be people-oriented and comfortable working with diverse individuals.
Responsibilities
- Engages and manages event participants to successfully execute fundraising plans and achieve revenue goals
- Coordinates event logistic needs
- Manages event website and FBCO website
- Process donations, maintain and enter information in donor database
- Create, analyze and build financial reports from donor database
- Weekly and monthly donor stewardship mailings
- Monthly outreach to constituents through MailChimp
- Develops and creates regular social media content for FBCO and for multiple social enterprises
- Develops and creates monthly email newsletter and semi-annual print newsletter
- Preparation of various correspondence, spreadsheets and donor reports
- Assist and support fundraising campaigns, copywriting, design, videography, photography
- Assist with a variety of related projects and events
- Collaborate with volunteer manager for volunteer communication to ensure consistent branding and messaging
- Process outgoing and incoming mail
- Supports community outreach and engagement opportunities
- Collaboration with operations department to identify needs, initiatives and top donor opportunities
- Performs clerical and administrative functions such as drafting correspondence, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, and customer service to callers and social media followers
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
