Big Hearts 2013 – What a Night!

BH13-Individual-Invitation-FB-2BccPresenting sponsor Big Lots promised that our annual “Big Hearts for Empty Houses” event would be “BIG” again this year, and it did not disappoint.

More than 700 people joined Big Lots, the Furniture Bank board and staff on Friday, May 3rd at the LC Pavilion in the Arena District to enjoy a truly great evening of food and drink (a la Cameron Mitchell), music and dancing (a la Party On The Moon), and one-of-a-kind live and silent auction items.

It was an emotional moment when Furniture Bank President Jim Stein gave a stirring tribute to retiring Big Lots CEO Steve Fishman for his devotion to the Furniture Bank mission over the past 7 years.

There are not enough words of gratitude for the years of
05-JimS-SteveFc exemplary support that Steve Fishman, his management team and their entire organization have given in support of “turning empty houses into homes” for central Ohio’s families struggling with poverty.

All in all, it was a life-changing evening for thousands of families in need in central Ohio. Our BIGgest “thank you” goes out to all the sponsors and supporters who joined in to make this possible.
